Great for mom, not for baby-contains 2 allergens

I love Weleda products for myself and I also love their diapers cream and face and body baby creams but this oil contains sweet almond oil and citrus, both of which are common allergens. My baby got a small rash from this. It's probably because they have TOO much essentials oils. I just use it for myself but watch the ingredients when using it on your baby.

Great moisturizing healing cream

I purchased this lotion for my son because he tends to lick around his mouth which causes his face to chap and get red. This lotion has cleared up the chalfing and redness in two days with nightly application. I have dry skin and tried it on my face and it works great. In addition I used it after waxing my legs and it seemed to have a soothing effect, without any stinging. It is a fairly thin oil that absorbs, but leaves alittle oil behind. Its has a smell to it that is hard to describe but it doesn't ling.

Not Just for Baby!

I was looking to get some of this for my little sister who just had her first child and was asking what I recommended over Johnson's and Johnson's that she could use - non-toxic of course but also that would be gentle and healing for the newborns skin. I had heard good things about Weleda and wanted to try it first. This is a fantastic oil! Working in the spa industry I often recommend using a body oil after the shower or bath to apply to the skin instead of a lotion like so many do, but some people feel like it might be too greasy. Botanical oils that have not been overprocessed should absorb well into all skin types but that being said, there are some that are better suited for dry skin types and colder climates and some that work better as a lighter oil in a more humid climate, etc.

I would highly recommend this oil for anyone's baby but also as a universal oil to apply to any skin almost perfect for anyone. It is a very light oil (slightly orange from the Calendula, but does not have a color once rubbed in) and is greedily soaked up by the skin once applied leaving it soft and nourished. It has a wonderful slightly fruity/floral scent that is even more fantastic because it is only scented by the botanical aromas of essential oils.

My only beff is why not store it in a glass bottle like the rest of Weleda's botanical oil products? I almost gave it 4 stars for that but then thought it might be due to that fact that the bottle is more likely to be kept in a childs room.

A wonderful product. It is a great after shower or bath oil for anyone's skin of any age and would also make a great addition to any baby shower gift for mom and baby to use.
