Glycolic acid (a.k.a. alpha hydroxy acid - AHA) powerfully exfoliates and helps bring new skin cells to the surface, which helps the complexion appear smoother. This product is a super high quality, completely non-comedogenic, 10% glycolic acid in a light feeling lotion which goes on clear and spreads easily. AHA+ also contains licochalcone, a licorice root extract which helps calm acne-prone skin. It is fragrance-free and dye-free.
For the face: From Dan: "I have always kept some glycolic acid around as a secret weapon. This is how I describe what it does: The Regimen (acne.org/regimen) will get you completely clear. Adding in glycolic acid will take clear to 'perfect.'" When to start with AHA+: Perform The Regimen for a month before starting with AHA+. When you are ready to use it, you can either replace your nightly moisturizer with AHA+ 2-3 times a week or dispense 1/2 AHA+ and 1/2 moisturizer into your palm, mix, and apply every evening. You should notice your skin looking better and more even-toned and will undoubtedly get some compliments.
For the body: AHA+ works alongside benzoyl peroxide to completely clear body acne. See The Body Regimen (acne.org/body) for instructions.
As a spot treatment: If you see a zit forming, apply 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and allow it to dry. Then apply AHA+. Many people find that this prevents the zit from maturing. This works best is if you catch it very early.
To combat irritation: When anything rubs against the skin repeatedly, such as a chin strap or helmet, it irritates the skin and can cause a breakout. Attempt to avoid or reduce irritation when possible. However, if you do end up irritating your skin, try applying AHA+ after your next Regimen application. This can help prevent an irritation-induced acne flare up.

Great for red/brown marks left after acne!!!

I use this stuff every night on my skin, and it has really made my red marks less noticeable. They are almost gone now! Also after using this product it will make your skin very touchable and soft. I think it's better to use this product a night, because AHA makes your skin sensitive to the sunlight. Besides that it's great, and I will buy again. Oh, yeah I use this for my bacne, and it works wonderfully. This will help fade marks left after acne (hyper pigmentation), and make your skin soft.

Believe the hype.

I'm going into my sophomore year of high school, and I have struggled with acne since fifth or sixth grade. I remember feeling so awkward because I was the only kid in my grade who had really bad acne. I never had cysts, just really unattractive whiteheads that wouldn't go away, especially on my forehead.
About halfway through my ninth grade year (after 3+ years of constant disappointments with the brand name products) I discovered acne.org and figured, What the hell, nothing else has worked. I'm not kidding--this was probably the best careless purchase I have ever made in my life. I started using the BP treatment in December, and by March my acne was 95% gone, and my skin was beautiful as can be.
However, as effective as the BP is, it isn't quite perfect because it makes your skin very dry and I even started to develop wrinkles in my forehead area (despite the fact that I'm only 15). When I went to order a new bottle of BP, I saw the new AHA+ treatment and figured I would give it a try. I purchased both, and adjusted my daily routine like this:
In the morning, I wash with Neutrogena Grapefruit cleanser and then put on the BP. I do the same thing at night, except every other night I use the AHA+ instead of BP. After hearing that AHA+ works on bacne and my keratosis pilaris, I started to put it on those areas after showering. You see, I'm a runner, and sports bras (as wonderful as they are) cause me to break out very badly on my chest, especially during the summer. I had one huge ugly pimple right splat on my chest that just wouldn't go away, and it was visible in just about every shirt I own. The AHA+ cleared my chest completely up in a week--right in time for the first day of school!
Daniel Kern, you are a god amongst men. I have complete and utter faith in you, and the best day of my life (as far as cosmetic discoveries go) was the day I blindly stumbled upon acne.org.

Great Product!

I use it every night and now my skin feel so soft and smooth. My acne marks are fading away.
