Goodbye day creams, hello sunscreen!
By Ellen
I have used 'day creams' that contain some level of spf for years. After having a skin cancer removed from my face, I used the Environmental Working Group's guide to learn the most effective types of sunscreen, zinc or titanium minerals, and the chemicals to stay away from. On that note, if you review particular sunscreens through EWG, be aware that this product is different than the face formulation reviewed there--it contains no parabens or urea. I use this product everyday. It is non-greasy, goes on smoothly, and does not interfere at all with my make-up. I am quite happy to ditch those pricey a.m. skin creams for this!

Nice texture but - octinoxate?
By Nerdbruticus
Wife's Review: This sunscreen has a nice light texture that goes on easily with no greasiness and it doesn't leave a white film on my face like many zinc oxide sunscreens do. BUT I didn't realize until I bought it that it also contains octinoxate which, according to my research, is a chemical sunscreen that is less irritating than most but has been shown to degrade in sunshine (a sunscreen that doesn't work in the sun?), produces free radicals that continue to damage your skin after sun exposure, and may be a hormone disruptor that mimics estrogen. Experts advise children and pregnant women to stay away - yikes. So despite the kid-beloved bottle that turns blue in sunshine and the light non-irritating formula that rubs into the kids faces so easily, I can't use this on my kids. And although I am not pregnant, I have had trouble with hormone imbalance, so I won't be using it either. If you don't mind using chemical sunscreens this is a really nice one, but for us it was a waste of money.

Very good product
By marls00
I bought this product after searching for a zinc oxide based sunscreen for the face. I had been using a Lancome product, but it was too pasty and left a white film on the face (a common problem with zinc oxide). This one is much, much better. It does leave a bit of a white film, but if you rub it in, it disappears. Zinc Oxide is the best and safest ingredient for sun protection. I highly recommend this product.
